Q:  Can I import to Ablemarks my bookmarks from my browser?
A:
Yes.  Many browsers allow you to export your favorites / bookmarks to a bookmarks file on your PC.  Ablemarks lets you import the bookmarks in that file into your Ablemarks account.  Our Import Bookmarks help page gives you step-by-step instructions for the leading browsers (Internet Explorer, FireFox, Chrome and Safari).  You can even import your favorites from multiple browsers / PC's and select to have duplicate bookmarks excluded.  Click here to reach the Import Bookmarks page.  There is also an 'Import Favorites / Bookmarks' link on the Settings page.

Q:  Can I open my bookmarks in a new window or tab?
A:
Yes, two ways.  There is a setting to control this on the Settings page.  If you set Ablemarks to open links in a new window, and you browser allows tabs, you may be able to also set your browser to open links in a new Tab.

A second method is to use the right-click button on your mouse.  Most browsers support the right-click capability to open a link in a new window or new tab.  When you left-click on a bookmark link, we normally will open the link in the same window that you see your bookmarks in.  To open a bookmark in a new window, or new tab, right-click the bookmark link.  A pop-up menu will appear with the first two selections usually being Open in New Window and Open in New Tab.  Select one of these.

Q:  Does it work with Mobile Media, iPhones and such?
A:
Yes, Ablemarks automatically senses you are viewing your bookmarks on an iPhone, iPod, Blackberry, LG  phone, etc. and displays your bookmarks in a compact fashion.  For iPad / Kindle like devices, the pixel resolution is sufficient to work with Ablemarks without any adjustments.  Ablemarks automatically formats your bookmarks into columns (1-5) that will fit your display.  On an iPhone, bookmarks are displayed in one column when it is held vertically, and in two columns when held horizontally.  For more and to see screenshot examples on the Mobile Devices help page.

Q:  Can I have a bookmark that points to a local file?
A:
No.  The idea behind Ablemarks is to quickly navigate the web, not navigate your PC.

Q:  Can I display my logo instead of the Ablemarks one?
A:
Yes, but only on the White and Black page designs.  You do this via the Tweaks field that is found on the Settings page.  The Tweaks let you change two additional areas of your bookmarks display page.   The logo in the upper left corner and the bookmark, heading and background colors.  For more information on how to do this, visit Tweaks help page.

Q:  Is Ablemarks helpful if you have one computer?
A:
Yes, and here's why . . .
1)  If your bookmarks are online at Ablemarks, then you can use multiple browsers on your PC and have all your bookmarks the same in each one.  Otherwise you end up with a favorite in IE, that you forgot to add to FireFox.
2)  You may need to use someone else's PC.  When you do, all of your familiar bookmarks are right where you expect them when you are using their PC.
3)  When you buy a new PC, all of your bookmarks are immediately available as soon as you open a browser on your new PC.
4)  When you travel, any PC you use can let you view all your bookmarks online at Ablemarks.

Q:  What are Public Tabs?
A:
Public tabs are tabs you have indicated you want users with your public password to be able to view and use.  If you have not specified a public password, and have not set the public option for any of your tabs, then only you can view and use your bookmarks.  You can also set up your account so public users can access and use your public tabs without having to sign in.  For more on this visit the Public Tabs help page.

A:
To make a payment, to renew your Ablemarks Premium Account, or to extend your Premium Account subscription, visit the Settings page and click the 'Renew' or 'Extend Subscription' link next to your Paid Through date.  All payments are made through PayPal, and you can use your credit card, even if you don't have a PayPal account.  You can add additional years to your subscription by increasing the subscription quantity at PayPal.  To get to the Settings page, click on the Settings link in the upper right corner of your Bookmarks page.

Q:  Do you automatically charge my credit card in 12 months?
A:
No.  Every 12 months, you have to make a payment to renew your Ablemarks Premium Account.  If no payment is made, your account will revert to a Basic Account with ads.  Under the ads will be a link to renew your Premium Account.  We will send you an email, with a PayPal payment link you can click, prior to the expiration of your account.
